Lurking in the Shadows for Chloe Moretz
Yes, we realise that sounds super pervy “Lurking in the shadows for a 13 year old” but you know that this is all in good humour so don’t be getting your pitch forks out and poison fingers typing.
So here it is, this month 13 year old Moretz has beat down competition that have a few more years on her, but we just couldn’t deny that this month, Chloe Moretz was the on to champion.
The little lady captured our attention in The Amityville horror back in 2005, the 8 year old outshone the rest of the cast and was the only good thing in that awful remake.
So after a rough start, Moretz seems to be whittling a career as the Anti-Dakota Fanning, with a few more years behind the feisty blond is now choosing roles that are a little riskier and far more interesting compared to her competitor’s early teenage roles.
2009 saw Moretz playing the younger sister of last month’s Lurking victim, Joseph Gordon Levitt. In the scenes between JGL and the 11 year old Moretz, its fair to say she once again stole the show. Showing wisdom beyond her years this role won our girl her next role as the filthy mouthed vigilante, Hit Girl in the super-hero flick hit, Kick Ass.
Stirring trouble throughout the mildly mannered American parents association, Moretz said C**t with the swagger of a cockney wide boy and threw moves like pro. In short she Kicked Ass.
So what’s next? Let the Right One In gets the American treatment with Moretz taking the lead as Abby the a 12-year-old vampire from the Swedish hit set for release October 1, 2010.
Our little fire cracker is also set to take on Scorsese this year with a role in The Invention of Hugo Cabret and will be getting down and dirty as 13 year old runaway in Andrea Portes novel adaptation, Hick.
There are also firm rumours of Moretz playing Emily Strange, the gothic teen icon that many teens (and cool, older types) can look forward to seeing on the big screen in 2011.
