Andy Gillooley – Raised by Dinosaurs

I can still remember the exact moment that I became a film geek.

I was ten years old and had just witnessed the trailer for Jurassic Park for the first time, I knew even then that in this moment something had changed, possibly forever.

Like most kids at that time I had grown up with a tried and trusted selection of VHS that my parents would keep close by to calm my more annoying moments, but from the moment that trailer had finished I was immediatley gripped.

What was this I had just seen?

I craved more and on my next trip to ASDA for our weekly shop convinced my mum to buy me a copy of the Jurassic Park novel, this was to prove my first piece of movie merchandise.

From there I begged to be taken along to the cinema on the day that it was released and experienced an awakening as I realised the power that cinema had. From that day forward I saw film in a new light and wanted more.

Eventually I grew up, arguably, and I immersed myself more and more in the world of cinema, studying film and media production before moving on to set up my own production company Lovely Films.

I still enjoy watching and analysing movies, and Screen Stalker is the perfect outlet for my writings, hopefully you can share in my love of all things cinematic, which would maybe not be here without a man called Spielberg, a grand idea, and a hell of a lot of special FX
